Pune city is not void of temples. Someshwar Temple is located in Baner Pashan which are one of the prime localities of Pune. The temple is around 1000 years old and built in Hemandpanti style of architecture.
The Shiv linga is below the ground and one has to go by stairs to reach there. Else can have a nice Darshan from the top also. Area of the temple is also very nice. Surrounded by well maintained lush green lawns, small fountain one will enjoy calm and serene atmosphere all around. One can relax in peace and can also meditate in the calmness of the temple. There is small yagna mandap where different yagnas are performed.
With the advance booking of priest of temple we can also perform Rudra Abhishek in the temple. Doing the same and listening to the powerful hymns of Rudra fills body with positivity and divine energy.
During Maha Shivratri the place is very crowded and it takes 1-2 hours to take darshan. One should avoid going by vehicles on that day since entry of vehicles are banned during the Maha Shivratri. There is also a fair arranged during that day for the devotees who throng this place in large numbers. Another festival which is celebrated is Tripurari Poornima. The picture above is the Tripurari Poornima celebration where whole temple is decorated with different diyas and many people also visit and lit the diya to pay respect to the deity. It’s a amazing experience to live and cherish.
Very nice place to visit!!! Happy traveling!!!!
